Police Blotter: Men Robbed at Gunpoint at Pearl and Valley Parkway

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A trio of armed robbers stole a man's wallet in the parking lot on Valley Parkway at Pearl Road Nov. 26, a report said.

The robber who was holding the gun fired it in the air when they left.

One of the victims called police about 9 p.m. and said he and his friend were sitting in the lot when the three robbers drove up. He said they pointed a gun at them until his friend handed over his wallet.

The two victims drove around the corner to Bonnie Park before calling police, saying they were afraid the gunmen would return.

The suspects were in a Silver Alero, the report said. They were described as two black males, one with short hair and one with an afro, and a white male who was in the back seat.

Detective Lt. John Janowski said Strongsville police assisted with the initial report, but Cleveland Metroparks rangers are handling the investigation because the robbery took place in their jurisdiction.

Creepy Smoker Reported

A man sitting at the corner of East Hartford and Bennington seemed creepy to a caller Nov. 25.

The caller said the man would get out of the car, smoke a cigarette, then get back in. 

He was gone when police arrived.

Wallet Stolen

A wallet was stolen from an unlocked locker at the Nov. 26.

The wallet contained $150 in cash and a debit card.

Parking Lot Fight

Police were called to a Whitney Road apartment building about 12:30 a.m. Nov. 24 about a fight involving at least 10 people.

Officers found one man bleeding from a cut on his arm and the backs of his legs. He told police he fell through a glass table.

He was taken to Southwest General Health Center. The only arrest was the victim's brother, who refused to follow orders and interfered with paramedics trying to help his brother, a report said.

He was charged with disorderly conduct.

Just Making Sure

Police were called to a Royalton Road hotel with two 911 hang-ups about 6:30 p.m. Nov. 26.

When officers tracked down the culprits, the couple said they were just making sure the number worked.

They told police they would relax and read the Bible for the rest of the night.
