Police Blotter: 'Mooning' Via Skype, Parasites in Room, Sugar in Gas Tank

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

Police were called to the on Royalton Road about 2 a.m. Thursday after a guest got a call saying there were parasites in his room and refused to return.

A report said the man received two phone calls from someone who said the room he was in had parasites. He went to the lobby to ask for his money back for the room.

The hotel refused, saying there were no parasites and the calls were pranks. The man said he would dispute the charges through his credit card company.

Indecent Skyping?

Six students at Albion Middle School were interviewed March 5 after school officials learned of possible nudity during a Skype conversation over the weekend.

After police spoke with the three boys and three girls, they learned one of the boys had "mooned" the girls.

Neither the school nor police are pursuing any further action.

Not So Sweet

A man visiting someone on Southporte the night of March 7 said someone put sugar in his gas tank.

He told police he might know who did it.

Very Diligent Watch

A Derby Court resident who was watching a neighbor's house while they were on vacation called police when she noticed their garage door was open.

Officers spoke with the residents, who said they hadn't left yet.

The Real Story

People sometimes make a situation sound more desperate than it is to get police officers' attention.

Like the woman on Hampton Place to called at 11:45 a.m. March 5 to say there was an intruder in her house. 

She later said the intruder used to live there. And he didn't break in; the door was open. And he owned guns. 

When officers arrived, they learned the "intruder" actually lived there. The couple had been arguing and the woman wanted him to leave.  

Tire Thieving

An officer who noticed a truck pulling out of about 12:15 a.m. was suspcious, and with good reason.

The man had tires in the back of his truck. A report said he admitted taking 10 tires from the business.

He was cited and the tires were returned.
