Police Blotter: More Thefts in Priem Area; What Caused Neighbors to Scream?

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

At least three residents in the Priem-Sprague roads area reported someone went through their cars and took change and -- in one case -- an iPod.

The reports follow similar incidents two days earlier.

Police said the thief made off with about $10.50 in change and the iPod touch from four unlocked vehicles in the three driveways, two on Sprague and one on Priem, the night of May 26.

On May 24, a and a GPS from her unlocked car, tracked down a teen walking in the neighborhood and took back her property, plus another GPS the youth had in his possession.

She let the culprit go. Police couldn't locate him.

Later May 24, another Priem Road resident reported change was taken from an unlocked car that morning.

A witness told police he saw a teen pulling on car door handles.

Out of My Yard

Neighbors on Stoughton Drive got into a shouting match May 27 after one may have placed a child's toy over the property line.

Police were called to the street about 6:30 p.m. when one woman put a toy into the neighbor's yard to clean it, and the neighbor came out to yell about it.

The neighbors have an ongoing dispute about where the property line is, a report said.

An officer asked the woman to move the toy closer to her own yard to clean it and advised the other to have a surveyor pinpoint the property line.

Purse Stolen from Rec Center

A purse was stolen from an unlocked locker at the May 26.

The theft was reported about 3:45 p.m.

Money Flies?

A witness reported a wallet fell from a car on Royalton Road near I-71 May 25, with money flying around.

Police reunited the owner with his wallet, credit cards and cash.
