Police Blotter: Party Brings Officers 3 Times, Once for Assault

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

Police were called three times about a party on Colebright Drive Jan. 14, the first time at 1:30 a.m. because of noise, kids trespassing in neighbors' yards and cars parked on both sides of the street.

A resident agreed to keep the noise down and move the cars.

Officers were called back about 3 a.m. by an 18-year-old who said he was beaten up by eight people at the party. He was being treated at .

Later in the day, a Colebright resident complained that people from the party had gone through his mailbox.

House is Beeping

A loud beeping noise was reported coming from a house on Parkwood Lane Jan. 15.

Police said the house appears vacant and the sound was apparently from a smoke alarm with a fading battery.

Lock-Picking Draws Suspicion

Someone was spotted picking the lock on a house for sale on Forestview Drive Jan. 15.

Police said it appeared at first the locksmith was installing a lockbox, but the real estate agent said he did not authorize that.

The realtor called pack later to say the homeowners had, in fact, called a locksmith because they were locked out.

Woman Walking on Road

A number of people called to report a woman walking in the eastbound lanes of Royalton Road about 3:45 p.m. Jan. 15.

Police caught up with the woman in the parking lot. She said she was fine and claimed she was in the crosswalk.
