Police Blotter: Pine Trees Chopped Down; Panhandling Man

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A man selling his house on Jonathan Drive visited the property April 26 and found someone had cut down the pine trees in his back yard.

A report said six trees were gone. The house is vacant.

Police said they would investigate.

Slashing

A Lorraine Drive man reported three tires on his car had been slashed April 26.

Begging at BP

Employees at the station on Royalton Road complained April 26 that a man drives to the business almost every day and asks customers for money and cigarettes.

Police traced the car's license plate to a house on Howe Road, but no one was home when they knocked.

The BP manager said she no longer wants the man on the property. Police said they would contact the man and tell him.

Bad Swipes

Police were called to handle a disturbance at at April 23 after a woman complained she was charged three times for her order.

A report said employees swiped her debit card three times the previous day because the receipt would not print.

The woman discovered the next day she'd been charged three times. When she went to the manager, he said he needed documentation from the bank before he would issue a refund.

After speaking with police, the woman agreed to wait for the refund.

Long Bath

A tenant at a Whitney Road apartment reported April 24 that the water in the bathtub upstairs had been running for 14 hours and she was concerned about the resident.

Police spoke with a maintenance man, who said the apartment the woman was indicating was vacant.

However, the toilet was running. He shut it off.

On Display

A passerby reported a large Eveready Battery display on the side of a building at The Greens of Strongsville April 25, saying it looked like kids took it from a store.

Police found it belongs to Dollar Tree. Employees couldn't fit it through the door.

Scooter Found

A Saratoga Trail woman found a scooter in her yard.

Police took the three-wheeled Razor for safekeeping.
