Police Blotter: Quiet Man Concerns Neighbor; Kids Steal Sewer Grate

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A resident of Chestnut Oak Lane called police shortly after midnight May 14 after noticing a suspicious man going into a nearby park.

The caller said the man got out of his car and closed the door very quietly. He then got some shoes out of the trunk, closing that quietly as well, and walked into the park.

Police sent a bonsai tree salesman packing May 14.

A report said a man was selling the miniature trees at Boston and Pearl roads. He was told he needs a permit.

Burglary

A house on Echo Drive was burglarized while the residents were at work May 14. The break-in was reported about 6 p.m.

Video Game Side Effects

An 18-year-old Strongsville resident called for help, saying he was having hallucinations after playing World of Warcraft for three straight days.

Sewer Stolen

Teenagers were seen taking a sewer grate from Gate Post Road about 3 p.m. May 17.

A report said the city Service Department is working on the road there.

Make It Stop

An Echo Drive resident asked police for help after receiving several phone calls a day from an automated system.

Police advised her to contact the phone company for a block and also to register for the "Do not Call" list.

Beeping Noise

A Drake Road resident heard a beeping noise coming from about 10:20 p.m. May 16.

Police discovered it was the fire alarm. Officers and firefighters determined there was no fire and the alarm sounded due to a malfunction in the PA system.
