Police Blotter: Residents Lose an iPad, DVDs, Wedding Ring to Thieves; Driver Hits Pedestrian and Flees

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A woman who set her wedding ring on table at the Friday went back to find it gone.

A report said the ring was on a picnic table between 11 and 11:25 a.m.

It has a total weight of 3 carats, a report said.

Theft from Vehicle

A Prospect Road woman told police someone stole DVDs and a GPS from her car July 26.

She said the thefts might have taken place at or overnight at her home.

An iPad was stolen from a car parked at the at Foltz Industrial Park.

The owner, who reported the theft July 28, said the car was locked.

Pedestrian Hit

A man walking on Fallingwater Road told police he was hit by a black, two-door Chevy Cavalier about 10 p.m. July 27.

A report said the driver, a man who appeared to be about 35, went south on Pearl Road.

The walker was not injured.

Oh, Just Get In

The manager at called police about 2 p.m. July 27 to say he had taken the keys of an intoxicated woman after she threw up in the restaurant. 

She left and went to , where management also refused to serve her, a report said.

Police took the woman, who lives in Brunswick, to the station to call a cab. However, the cab company would not take a credit or debit card.

A report said the matter was "becoming quite an issue," so an officer just drove her home.
