Police Blotter: Someone Sleeping in Carport -- Again

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

The manager of the Royalton Greens apartments found a man sleeping in the carports Jan. 6.

The sleeping man, who appeared to be in his 20s, woke up and ran off when he was spotted.

Officers checked the area, but couldn't find him. They did find pillows, blankets and clothing in the carport.

Management also reported Dec. 12.

The manager asked police to warn the homeless suspect, unless he is the same person who was camping out there before. In that case, she said she will pursue charges.

Garbage Reported in, Uh, Garbage Can

Police were called to check the contents of a garbage can outside a Pearl Road bank after someone noticed a brown bag in it.

The woman said no one ever uses the trash can and the bag was making her nervous.

More Mischief

Residents on Kylemore Drive and Bradgate Lane reported Jan. 8 that someone had shot paintballs at their houses or cars the night before.

The paint hit a window, a garage door and one vehicle.

Man Begs for Money

Police went looking for a man who was reportedly approaching people outside TGI Fridays, 18400 Royalton Rd., asking for money about 8:45 p.m. Jan. 7.

The caller said the man was about 50 and was with a teenage girl. He said he was from Columbus and has a baby.

He was gone when officers arrived.

Caller Threatens Dog

A Webster Road family gave a puppy to a Garfield Heights man two years ago, and that man is now threatening to kill the dog.

The man said he would also kill them if they try to stop him.

Police learned that authorities in Garfield Heights took the dog from the man's house, apparently prompting him to make threats to the Strongsville family.

The Strongsville residents wanted the threats documented.

Egg Patrol

Residents on Colleen Court and Ellsworth Drive reported vehicles were hit with eggs Jan. 8.

The eggers were out around 10 p.m., reports show.
