Police Blotter: Stray Golf Balls, Assault

The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department.

A man called around 6:30 p.m. March 14 to say someone had been hitting golf balls into his yard in the 18900 block of Ballymore Street

. He said he found about 25 golf balls, and wanted it documented in case there is damage next time.

A man reported he was assaulted at the around 1:30 p.m. March 13.

Police received a call around 4 p.m. Mach 14 about a young man walking with a girl on Pearl Road near possibly carrying "some sort of machine gun." Turns out, the man was carrying a toy plastic gun. He threw it away.

'I said no ice, punk...'

Police were called to around 4:30 p.m. March 15 when a caller feared a verbal assaulting of a manager was about to get physical. The customer, who was unhappy with his service, was advised if he were to return to the restuarant, he would be prosecuted.

Suspicious phone offer

A woman called police around 11:15 a.m. March 12 after a telemarketer had sold them a free cruise over the phone. The woman was told she only had to pay the port fee, so she gave the solicitor her debit card information. After not receiving a confirmation number, she got suspicious and closed her accounts at before any money had been taken out. She wanted police aware of the suspicious call.
