Police Blotter: Woman Fears Daughter Got AIDS at Mall

The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department

A West Salem woman called police to Dec. 4 after noticing her daughter had a small cut on her arm.

The daughter said something stuck her, but was unsure when it happened. She noticed it about 9:40 p.m. when she saw a few specks of blood on her clothing.

The mom told police she is sure her daughter was infected with the AIDS virus.

Police officers advised her to take her daughter to a hospital to be checked.

Another Mall Call

A woman from PETA reported an injured pit bull puppy in a store at SouthPark Dec. 3.

The caller said the dog had scratches and a hurt front paw. She said she reported it to the store, but nothing was done.

Police found no pit bulls in the store, but checked all the bulldogs and found none injured. An employee said no one told her about an injured dog.

Child Driver

A passerby reported a young child starting a vehicle in a Pearl Road parking lot about 5 p.m. Dec. 3.

The caller said the boy is about 5 or 6 and was alone in the front seat. He kept starting and shutting off the vehicle.

The car was gone when police arrived.

Screaming for the Season

A Drake Road resident reported someone screaming at a house on North Red Rock Drive about 7 p.m. Dec. 3.

Police went to the address and found the family was putting up decorations. Everything seemed fine, a report said.
