Police Blotter: Woman Run Over by Own Car; Teen Charged with Assaulting Police Officer
The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

An 18-year-old will be charged with a felony for allegedly assaulting a police officer during a dispute with his girlfriend early March 25.
Residents on Shurmer Drive near Hunting Meadows called police about 12:20 a.m. after hearing a female screaming.
Police found the 18-year-old and his juvenile girlfriend arguing, and witnesses said the man had pushed her.

Officers handcuffed him, but he then refused to get in the police car, kicking his legs and spitting in the face of one officer, Detective Lt. John Janowski said.
Police used a Taser to subdue him.

In the jail, he later injured his hand when he struck the metal bars, Janowski said, and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Woman is Both Driver and Victim
A freak accident injured a woman on Stag Thicket Lane about 9:30 p.m. March 25.
A report said the woman pulled into a driveway and jumped out of her vehicle to try to stop her dog from jumping out the window.
She told police she thought she put the car in park when she got out and left the driver's door ajar. But the car rolled backward and the door knocked her to the ground.
The car then rolled toward her, with the front tire coming to rest on her leg, a report said.
Car Break-In
A woman left Hoover Arena about 7:30 p.m. March 23 to find a window in her van smashed and her purse and other items gone.
Scooter Interference?
Police were called to Lunn Road when a resident found a scooter thrown over some wires and said it took out phone service.
A report said the phone problem had nothing to do with the scooter.
They removed the scooter and took it to the station until its owner can be found.
Night Rider
Police found a man trying to ride a bike on Pearl Road near the turnpike about 12:30 a.m. March 23.
Officers convinced the man, who lives in Texas, to walk the bike back to the motel where he was staying and to try to ride again the next day.
