Police: Cheese Angers Diner; Unusual Alarm; Don't Buy a Stereo in a Parking Lot

Police were called to on Pearl Road about 5:30 p.m. Aug. 20 after a customer became irate and yelled at employees.

A report said the man ordered food, but brought it back to the counter because it had cheese on it.

He then "caused a ruckus and broke some tile," a report said.

He was gone when police arrived. Officers told the employees to call if he came back.

Suspicious Pictures

A woman in a Jeep took pictures of kids playing in a South Red Rock Drive front yard about 6 p.m. Aug. 20.

The dad called police, but the woman had driven off. 

Odd Alarm Call

Police are called to false alarms all the time, but encountered an unusual situation of Wakefield Circle about noon Aug. 20.

When they arrived, they found the back door wide open and the TV on, and it appeared someone had been lying on the couch. 

A dog was inside, and it didn't look like a break-in, a report said.

Officers called the owner and waited until she got home a few minutes later. Nothing unusual could be found inside or outside.

Parking Lot Electronics

An unhappy customer called police to Aug. 22 to report a scam after spotting a couple selling stereo systems in the parking lot.

The man told police he purchased one for $200 in June and it never worked. 

The sellers -- a man and a woman in their 20s -- left when the former customer tried to take their picture.

The man said he took a chance on the equipment because it came in a sealed box, with a receipt and a phone number -- which has since been disconnected.

Potato Mischief

Kids rang a doorbell on Tradewinds Drive and threw a sweet potato at the garage about 11 p.m. Aug. 20.
