Prowler Hits 17 Unlocked Cars In Strongsville, Police Say
The Strongsville Police Department warned residents to lock their cars overnight.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — An opportunistic prowler stole items from 17 unlocked cars in the Bent Tree Development of Strongsville, the police department announced. Residents were told to lock their cars overnight, to prevent being targeted in similar thefts.
"Our night shift officers last night arrested a male for entering numerous unlocked vehicles in the Bent Tree Development," Strongsville Police said on social media. "After his arrest he admitted to walking throughout the neighborhood opening unlocked vehicles looking for money."
Police said at least 17 vehicles were targeted by the suspect. They described his target area as "very small."

Residents were asked to lock their cars any time they're away from their vehicles.

"If you do not want to be an easy victim of a crime, please take the 2 seconds to lock your car doors," police said.
