Two more residents report hearing someone trying to get in over the weekend

Two more residents reported hearing someone trying to get into their houses this week, but there is no indication they are related to two incidents Oct. 8 and 9 in which would-be intruders opened windows of occupied homes.

"There's no way to say if they're related or not," Detective Lt. John Janowski said. "There's nothing that connects them."

On Oct. 14, a about 10:14 p.m.

"It's been wet and rainy, but we haven't found any footprints outside," Janowski said.

And on both days, high winds could have been responsible for the noises at the doors, he said.

But many residents have been concerned following two incidents the previous weekend in which it appears someone tried to break into houses while the residents were home.

The night of Oct. 8, police were-- Idlewood Trail and Blodgett Creek -- by residents who heard someone at their windows.

On Idlewood, a screen had been removed from the window. On Blodgett, a window hinge was broken and the resident found a shovel and post hole digger outside.

In addition, another resident who lives near also said she heard someone open her screen door about 6 a.m. Oct. 10, also causing her dog to bark.

Janowski said there is no indication the Oct. 8 incidents were related to in which three Cleveland men entered a house through an unlocked window, tied the female resident to the house and stole items.
