Reimbursement Program Announced For Strongsville Schools

The district is offering a credit or reimbursement program on certain unused fees collected during the school year.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — The Strongsville Schools are offering a reimbursement program for fees that were collected but not used due to the new coronavirus closure.

Among the fees being reimbursed are: full-day kindergarten fees, unused course materials, parking permit fees, field trip fees, certain student-athlete fees and preschool tuition fees.

For parents of graduating high school seniors, any applicable reimbursements were applied first to student accounts. If a student had any outstanding fees, the credit subtracted from them. If there were no outstanding fees, and a student doesn't have younger siblings, parents can apply for a refund.

However, if the graduating senior has a younger sibling, the credit will be applied to the sibling's account. If there are no outstanding fees on any of the senior's sibling's accounts, then parents can apply for a reimbursement.

For all other students in the district, the credit was first applied to the student account to wipe out remaining fees. If there were no remaining fees, the credit will be applied to next year's costs and fees.

Any families that wish to apply for a refund, and not have the credit pushed into next year, can apply for a refund through the district's website. The completed form can be emailed to studentfeerefund@scsmustangs.org.

Families should allow up to four weeks for processing, though the refund may arrive sooner.
