Here are the top three stories today in Strongsville:

1. About 100 Cuyahoga County residents spoke against the county's new jail on Thursday during a community meeting. According to the residents, a new county jail is not a good use of about $500 million of taxpayer money. The residents believe that the jail's issues stem from bad leadership and staffing instead of facility problems. The county's consultant assured residents their questions would be answered at another meeting. (Cleveland.com)
2. The number of counties in Ohio designated as red by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention continues to grow. The map has had Cuyahoga County listed as red since late last month. The newest map has 56 of the 88 counties in Ohio listed as red. Residents are asked to wear masks indoors in red counties. (Cleveland.com)
3. Strongsville travelers are warned about several OVI checkpoints occurring this weekend. An OVI checkpoint is a legal stop that Ohio can use to determine if drivers have been drinking or not. The checkpoints have been announced for Ashland County, Cuyahoga County, Ottawa County, Richland County, and Stark County. (Cleveland 19)
