Secretary of State Recognizes Strongsville Company

Euthenics, a civil engineering design firm, was chosen by Jon Husted for its focus on quality.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — Each month, Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted recognizes a local business for outstanding performance in its field. In June, the company chosen for the honor was Euthenics, a Strongsville-based civil engineering firm.

Euthenics' President Alan Piatak said Husted's office contacted the firm about a month ago, alerting them that they were in the running for the award. The secretary of state wanted to select a company in construction, either a contractor or a design firm, Piatak told Patch.

Soon after, the company was told that Husted and his team had selected Euthenics for the monthly commendation. The firm would receive the award on June 16. The award itself says the company, "has achieved great success by focusing on quality and the people they serve."

On Husted's website, it is noted that there more than 19,000 construction companies in Ohio. Most of those companies are small business, but employ more than 200,000 Ohioans.

“There are a lot of great jobs available in the construction industry,” Husted said in a statement. “You can get training right in your local high school or career tech institution and many of these jobs pay great wages and can lead to a wonderful career.”

Founded in 1969, Euthenics has grown into a 25 employee company and has serviced projects for local cities, counties, states, and the federal government. A Columbus office was opened in 1977. The firm specializes in transportation and municipal engineering projects.

In 2003, Euthenics moved to Strongsville, where it has been located for the past 14 years.

Husted is one of several politicians vying to replace the term-limited Governor John Kasich.
