Square 22 Opens in Strongsville
The restaurant offers Americana cuisine in a casual setting.
STRONGSVILLE, OH - Square 22, a new restaurant, has opened at 13485 Pearl Road. The establishment offers Americana cuisine and a concentrated dose of downtown ambiance.
Operating partner and co-founder Dan Stroemple has been in the restaurant business for 30 plus years. He said that he and his partner, Mike Catan, wanted to bring the feel of West 25th, E. 4th, and Tremont to suburban Strongsville. The restaurant was designed to capture an urban and industrial look, an attempt to bring in some of that downtown flavor.
"We used re-purposed wood, metal and garage doors to get that feel," Stroemple says. "We also have a seasonal patio and a year-round patio, a feature that you see in a lot of those downtown restaurants."

The menu reflects an upscale Americana with a twist. Stroemple recommends trying the bourbon braised C.A.B. short rib or New England lobster roll.
"We wanted to add to an already strong Strongsville dining scene," he says. "We wanted to create an ambiance that was unique to Strongsville."

To do that, he says that he and his partner have instilled a sense of hospitality into their restaurant and 35-person staff. He says that he wants Square 22 to be the friendliest place in town. The staff is constantly trying to capture the perfect attitude for customers.
At the moment, Square 22 is open for dinner on Monday through Saturday. Stroemple says there are plans to add Sundays and lunch hours within about a month.
"We really just want to fit into the Strongsville dining scene," he says.
