STRONGSVILLE, OH - High school students who live in Strongsville still have time to apply for a scholarship from the Strongsville Chamber of Commerce. Last year, the Chamber gave away approximately 20 scholarships to local students.

Applications for this year's scholarship recipients are available online. High school seniors who live in Strongsville are eligible for entry (they do not have to attend Strongsville High School). The deadline for application is March 1.

A team from the Chamber will review the applications. Candidates will then have one-on-one interviews with members of the Chamber. Amy Ferree, executive director of the Chamber, says that last year the organization interviewed about 40 students.

"All of the parents and grandparents come along with the kids, it’s quite an honor," Ferree said. "That will be held at the May 16. At that luncheon we also award a donation to the St. Joseph and John Media Center and give a donation to the Polaris Education Foundation. Those funds are used at their discretion."

The Chamber has been giving away scholarships to resident students for nearly 50 years (it will be 50 following the 2017 Holiday Dance on Dec. 1).
