Strongsville Gets $617,165 for Sewer Project

The project will take place on Drake Road, Bowman Drive, and Fetzer Drive.

STRONGSVILLE, OH - Thanks to a grant from the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, three streets in Strongsville will undergo construction for a sanitary sewer project. Drake Road, Bowman Drive, and Fetzer Drive will all see work.

The NEORSD grant is $617,165 and is one of 12 grants given to Greater Cleveland cities. Overall the organization gave away $7.2 million.

"The projects we are funding through the Member Community Infrastructure Program will address impacts to human health and the environment from aging local sewer infrastructure,” said Kyle Dreyfuss-Wells, deputy director of watershed programs, in a press release. “We are very pleased to partner with these communities to move these great projects forward."

The City of Strongsville has not yet returned a request for information on how long the three streets could be impacted by the work.

The NEORSD says that many of the projects, including the one in Strongsville, are designed to eliminate household sewage treatment systems and septic tanks. It also means the NEORSD will get 900 new customers.
