Strongsville Gets New Athletic Director

A longtime resident of the city will return to his school district to lead Strongsville High sports.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — Strongsville High School has a new athletic director. Dennis Ziegler was officially hired by the district at Thursday's Board of Education meeting. He will start his new role on January 2, 2019.

“Strongsville High School has a rich history of talented student-athletes and coaches, along with successful programs and competitive teams in our conference. Having grown up in Strongsville, I share the community’s passion for high school athletics. My primary goal for Mustangs athletics is to empower an environment where people can thrive as individuals and as a team. I want to build leaders not only in athletics, but leaders in the classroom and in life. I am looking forward to continuing to build that positive connection between our student-athletes and community youth programs,” said Ziegler.

Ziegler is currently the athletic director for East High School, in the West Bend School District in Wisconsin. Prior to taking that role, Ziegler spent two and a half years as the athletic director of the Wellington School District. During his career he has held both coaching and teaching positions in college and high school athletics.
