Strongsville Killing: Police Ask For 'Patience'
The department took to Facebook to ask for understanding and patience while investigating the killing of a 6th grade teacher in the city.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — Police are asking for patience while investigating the killing of Melinda Pleskovic, 49, who was stabbed to death Monday. Pleskovic was a 6th grade teacher for the Strongsville City School District.
Strongsville residents have been vocal on social media, asking for more information on the case and the status of the investigation. Community members also want to know if other residents should feel concerned for their safety.
Addressing these issues, the police department took to Facebook to plead for patience.

"We are aware of, and sensitive to, a number of concerns in our community following the recent incident on Blazing Star Drive. We ask for everyone’s understanding, support and patience while this case is being actively and aggressively investigated," the department wrote on Facebook. "We cannot release much information on cases that are under investigation. We have to allow investigators an opportunity to do their work. Be assured that nothing is more important to us than the safety of the members of our community."
However, far from stemming the tide of questions toward the department, the post seemed to add fuel to the fire. Many were left wondering why city officials had not commented on the case or reassured residents of their safety.
