Strongsville Man Sentenced for Murder in Cleveland

Terrance Williams gets prison for 2010 homicide

A Strongsville man convicted of aggravated murder in connection with a 2010 incident in Cleveland has been sentenced to 33 years to life in prison, according to Maria Russo, spokeswoman for Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason.

Terrance Williams, 38, 20217 Bradgate Lane, was sentenced Thursday by Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Joseph Russo.

Williams was also found guilty of one count of kidnapping, one count of discharging a firearm on or near a prohibited premises, and one count of carrying concealed weapons.

He was convicted after a jury trial.

According to the prosecutor's office, Williams went to a house party on Donald Avenue near East 71st Street in Cleveland on Oct. 22, 2012.

At gunpoint, he accused the victim, Artimis Darden, 18, of breaking into a car. Williams entered the residence and forcibly removed the victim from the house.

Once outside, Darden attempted to get away. While fleeing, Williams shot the victim with a .45 caliber handgun in the back. Williams dragged Darden's body to the curb and fired an additional shot into his victim, killing him.

An unknown suspect then fired a separate shot, striking Williams in the shoulder. Williams collapsed on top of the victim. Williams was taken to the hospital by a friend; he survived. The victim subsequently died at MetroHealth Medical Center.
