Strongsville Police Blotter: Explosion Brings Out Neighbors, Shuts Out Power
The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

Residents on Framingham Oval, Plymouth Row and Rabbit Run reported two loud explosions about 9:30 p.m. Aug. 29.
Police found a number of people outside when they went to the area and learned the explosions apparently came from power equipment because many people had no electricity.
Foul Odor Unexplained

Several people reported of a foul odor coming from the area of the railroad tracks on Royalton Road.
An officer checked the area Sept. 1 and also noticed the smell, but could not find the source. It was probably from a dead animal, a report said.

Boys with Gun Cause Alarm
Two boys walking on Webster Road about 8:30 p.m. Aug. 31 caused some concern because it appeared one was carrying a rifle.
It was a gun, a report said -- and Air Soft gun. Police warned the youths about carrying a realistic-looking weapon and had them turn it over to a parent.
Hatchet Job
Four teenagers were stopped by police Sept. 1 after a Forestwood Drive resident said they were throwing a hatchet at trees in the development's park.
The boys said they were throwing sticks at a bees' nest in a tree.
More Damage on Cartwright Parkway
A resident told police someone used a flammable liquid to kill his grass early Aug. 29.
Cartwright Parkway was the same place police found a "splotch" in the road where it appeared something had been burned last week.
