• The theft of a sweatshirt from the 18100 Royalton Rd., Feb. 12 turned out to be more of an inconvenience than a crime. The owner reported about 7 p.m. that his sweatshirt with his cell phone, money, wallet and car keys was taken from the rec center.
Police took the victim home to look for a spare car key, but he could not find one, a report said, forcing him to leave his vehicle at the rec center.
The case was solved then next day when a man turned in the hoodie. He said he had picked up his kids and their friends at the rec center, and one had brought the orange hoodie to the car, believing it belonged to his son.
Police returned the sweatshirt, wallet, keys and cash to the owner.
