The other promotions included:

Fender told Patch in a wide-ranging interview that he would like to gradually expand the police department. In 2017, he'd like to add one patrolman. At some point in the not too distant future, he'd also like to increase the size of the detective bureau.
Fender also discussed some of the major issues facing Strongsville police in 2017 and beyond. He spoke about the need to battle the spread of opioids, and specifically heroin, in all of Greater Cleveland. He also talked about the threat of lone wolf terrorism.
