Strongsville Schools Receive Another Financial Reporting Award
The district received the Meritorious Budget Award for the 2019-2020 school year.
STRONGSVILLE, OH — The Strongsville City Schools recently received the Meritorious Budget Award for the 2019-2020 school year. The award continued a run of praise from financial bodies, as the district previously received the 2020 Auditor of State Award with Distinction.
“We are proud to be recognized with both the Meritorious Budget Award and the Auditor of State Award with Distinction. These awards are not individual awards, but reflect a total team effort from not only the Treasurer’s office, but from all district personnel," said George Anagnostou, Strongsville City Schools treasurer.
This is the fourth straight year Strongsville Schools have earned the Meritorious Budget Award (MBA), an annual award given out by the Association of School Business Officials. The award is given to districts for sound fiscal management and budgetary policies.

A panel of school financial officials reviewed Strongsville Schools' budget documents and reports. After comparing the reports to certain criteria, the panel decided to award the district's budgeting documents. The panel then provided feedback on how the district can further develop its budget documentation process.
"Our district works extremely hard throughout the year to maintain fiscal responsibility and financial transparency, as it relates to the funding we are provided by the taxpayers of our community. We continue to make this our highest priority for the benefit of the students in our district and our taxpayers,” added Anagnostou.
