STRONGSVILLE, OH — The Strongsville Schools are looking for members of the community to join the district's diversity council. Superintendent Cameron Ryba sent an email to families this week describing the work.

"Whether we define our diversity as race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, or beliefs, we are committed to learning and growing to meet the needs of our diverse students and families. To support us in this work, we need to partner with you," Ryba said.

Applicants will need to provide a brief statement explaining why they want to join the district's diversity council. They'll then be prompted to suggest meeting times.

"We need to engage with one another in this conversation so that we can celebrate our successes as a district, while at the same time identifying and problem-solving roadblocks that our students may be facing," Ryba said.

Applications for the council can be found online.
