Strongsville Schools, Teachers Agree On Contract Extension
The extension will go into effect on August 1, 2019 and continue for one-year, the district announced.
STRONGSVILLE, OH — The Strongsville Schools and the local teachers association have extended their current contract agreement.
The extension will maintain the current agreed-upon contract, with a 1.5-percent salary increase, through July 31, 2020. The agreement with the Strongsville Education Association will go into effect on August 1, 2019.
“This contract extension with our teachers association is essential to continuing the positive work and momentum of our District. We have been dedicated over the past several years to strengthen this collaborative working relationship with our teachers and will continue to build on this agreement. Ultimately, our goal is to have the best teachers in our District enriching the growth of all of our students within the confines of our financial wherewithal as provided by our very supportive taxpayers,” said Carl Naso, Strongsville Board of Education President.

“This contract extension exemplifies the collaborative relationship that has been built with our teachers and the transparency we have with our community. By approving this extension and a salary increase that is less than the current cost of living increases in February, our community can be assured as to what they are voting on when they go to the polls this May," Ryba said in an emailed statement.
"This extension sends a strong message to our community that all Strongsville employees are vested in the future of our school district. We have outstanding teachers in our district and with an uncertain financial future, it is imperative that we keep them teaching in Strongsville," Ryba added.
