Strongsville Schools' Treasurer Wins Prestigious Award
George Anagnostou received the Distinguished Service Award

STRONGSVILLE, OH — The Strongsville City Schools' treasurer, George Anagnostou, received the Distinguished Service Award from the Ohio Association of School Business Officials (OASBO). He accepted his award at the OASBO's 61st Annual Workshop & Trade Show in Columbus, Ohio.
The Distinguished Service Awards Program recognizes one individual from OASBO's five regions who have made significant contributions to their profession. Each recipient also receives a $500 scholarship to give to a senior in their district. Strongsville High School student Sydney Cornelius received the scholarship.

OASBO's Executive Director, James Rowan, attended the Strongsville Board of Education meeting to recognize Anagnostou.
Anagnostou became the district's treasurer in 2015. He has also earned the Meritorious Budget award for 2016-2017 from the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO), making Strongsville one of only three districts in Ohio to ear the ASBO award.

Anagnostou spent seven years with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. He developed and oversaw a $732 million budget while with the district.
He graduated from Youngstown State University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and completed a Strategic Data Project Fellowship in conjunction with Harvard University in 2014. The two-year program develops data strategists in school systems, state education departments, and nonprofit providers.
