STRONGSVILLE, OH — The Strongsville Schools received the Auditor of State Award with Distinction this month. A representative from State Auditor David Smith's office presented the award to the district during a Board of Education meeting.

"State Auditor Regional Liaison Jake Altman recognized SCS Treasurer George Anagnostou and his team with the 2020 Auditor of State Award with Distinction," a district spokesperson told Patch in an email. "This award is presented to those school districts that receive a “clean” audit report, meaning the district’s annual financial audit did not contain findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, single audit findings, or any questioned costs."

The Strongsville Schools recently released their Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for school year 2018-209. The district said the report will again qualify for the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement program and the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting.
