Strongsville Schools Win International Budgeting Award
The Association of School Business Officials International has awarded Strongsville City School District its Meritorious Budget Award.

STRONGSVILLE, OH - The Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) has awarded Strongsville City School District its Meritorious Budget Award (MBA) for excellence in budget presentation during the 2016–2017 budget year.
The MBA promotes and recognizes excellence in school budget presentation and enhances school business officials' skills in developing, analyzing, and presenting a school system budget. After a rigorous review by professional auditors, the award is conferred only on school districts that have met or exceeded the program’s stringent criteria.
The district's treasurer George Anagnostou said this was his first time receiving the award and the first time the district had prepared a budget to meet ASBO's standards. Strongsville now joins the ranks of other districts that have previously received the award. Last year, Berea City Schools and Hilliard City Schools won in the state of Ohio.

Anagnostou said that preparing the ASBO templates from scratch took about a month or a month and a half.
"I'm excited about receiving this award," he said. "This was a professional goal from the moment I stepped into the Strongsville School District."
