Take A Virtual Tour Of Strongsville High

A new video takes watchers inside the hallways and classrooms of the high school.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — Residents and alumnus that want to take a virtual tour of Strongsville High School are in luck. A new YouTube video takes viewers into the hallways and classrooms of the building, while providing some information on the school's many programs.

The video was created for Strongsville High School, according to the district. The YouTube account that uploaded the video is ORIGIN TD, which has created virtual tour videos for other schools, including Miami Valley, La Salle and Cathedral.

The Strongsville Schools have been the recipients of several grants and prizes over the past year. Most recently, a local Staples selected the district to receive $10,000 as part of an Intel-run contest. That money has been slated for the district's Makerspaces. Similarly, the Strongsville Schools received a $20,000 grant supporting Makerspaces in April 2017 from the from the GDP Groups Employees' Foundation.

In recent months, the district has earned praise from Google and had students selected as National Merit Semifinalists.

It hasn't all been roses, though. The Ohio Department of Education's annual report cards for school districts gave a less than glowing review of Strongsville. The district earned one A and one B, for Graduation Rate and Progress respectively. The district was also given three Cs and one D.

Superintendent Cameron Ryba said there was "room for improvement" on the district's performance.
