Toboggan Chutes Open Friday In Northeast Ohio

Ohio's tallest and fastest toboggan chutes will start welcoming visitors on Black Friday.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — Ohio's tallest and fastest toboggan chutes will begin welcoming riders on Friday. The chutes at Mill Stream Reservation's Chalet in Strongsville officially open at noon on November 29.

The Chalet features two twin toboggan chutes, both featuring 70-foot drops. Riders can reach speeds of up to 50 mph. The ice chutes are refrigerated and work with or without snow, as long as temperatures are below 50 degrees.

The chutes are open to anyone who is at least 42 inches tall. Gloves are required to ride.

Between rides, guests can warm up in the Chalet, which features two fireplaces and sells hot chocolate at the snack bar.

Tobogganing will be available on weekends through March. The hours for the chutes are as follows:

  • Fridays: 6 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
  • Saturdays: noon – 10:30 p.m.
  • Sundays: noon – 5 p.m.

The chutes will also be open during select holidays. During the week of Christmas, for example, tobogganing will be available on Monday, December 23, Tuesday, December 24, and Thursday, December 26.
