Trash day will change for some Strongsville residents starting May 23.
Service Director Joe Walker said the city and its trash collector, Republic Services, are revising the collection routes the trucks follow.
"They haven't been changed in probably 20 years," Walker said.

He said that as the city grew, new streets were added to routes, but those additions, in some cases, no longer make sense.
By redrawing the routes, he said Republic will improve its efficiency and reduce the number of trucks it has on the streets.

The city will mail a notice to all households with the new trash collection schedule. The notice lists which streets will be collected each day of the week.
Walker is asking all residents to check for their street on the list. While not all streets will have their trash pickup days changed, some will.
Trash and recyclables must be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on pickup day. Brush and tree trimmings must be cut and tied into bundles that don't exceed 4 feet in lengths or 50 pounds.
