Two Strongsville Golfers Among Metroparks Champs

Two Strongsville golfers finished in the top 10 in the Cleveland Metroparks' amateur golf competition July 23 and 24, qualifying for the regional championships.

Phil Latsko shot a 140 to come in fifth at Big Met Golf Course in the 36-hole competition, followed in sixth place by Kevin Pikus, who shot 144.

Both will advance to the Greater Cleveland Amateur Golf Championship. The 54-hole event is Aug. 12-14 at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Brecksville.

Amateur golfers competed for a chance to advance to the championships at Big Met and Sleepy Hollow courses.
