Want To Be A Strongsville City Councilperson? This Is Your Chance

Two current councilmen will moving into at-large seats, leaving their current seats vacant. The city needs replacements.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — Strongsville City Council is looking to fill a pair of vacancies, in Ward 2 and Ward 3. Current Ward 2 Councilman Matt Schonhut and Ward 3 Councilman Jim Carbone will be moving to at-large seats at the beginning of 2018.

Schonhut's and Carbone's replacements will serve through 2018 and into 2019. The replacement would then need to run for re-election to hold the seats again.

To be considered for the soon-to-be open positions, residents need to be from the respective wards (either Ward 2 or Ward 3) and will need to fill out an application.

Resumes can be dropped off with the Clerk of Council, 16099 Foltz Parkway, or emailed to citycouncil@strongsville.org. Applications are due by Dec. 18, 2017.

If a resume is selected, applicants may have to go through an interview process with members of city council. Appointments should then be made by January 2018.
