Water Main Break Off Priem Road In Strongsville

Residents in the Meadowood area could be seeing brown-colored water or having low-water pressure.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — There has been a significant water main break off Priem Road in Strongsville, the city announced on Facebook. The Cleveland Water Department has been contacted because they handle repairs and line breaks.

Residents in the area could see brown-colored water or low-water pressure because of the break. The water department's customer service number is (216) 664-3130.

Cleveland Water has been battling a historically difficult winter, with water main breaks far outstripping 2017. Through the first four days of the year, Cleveland Water repaired 93 broken water mains. On Jan. 5, the department repaired at least seven more broken water mains. How does that compare to 2017? Through the first five days of last year, there were only 19 water main breaks for the department to grapple with.

"In harsh winters, 24 crews of four workers work rotating shifts with mandatory overtime seven days a week. Cleveland Water staff will be working 24-hours a day through the weekend – as they do every day of the year – to continue repairing breaks," the department said on its website.
