🌱 1 Dead, 1 Charged In N. Toledo Shooting + Million Dollar Grant

Hello, people of Toledo! It's me again, Brad King, your host of the Toledo Daily.


First, today's weather:

Here are the top stories in Toledo today:

  1. Toledo Police are asking for the community's help to locate a man missing since November 13. 55-year-old Hal Priser was last seen at the Amtrak Station on Emerald Avenue. He is 5-feet, 6-inches tall and approximately 120 pounds. It is unknown what he was last wearing. (WTOL)
  2. This year the Toledo Repertoire Theatre will present its annual production of A Christmas Carol, a tradition that goes back 35 years. The performance will occur both at the 10th Street Toledo Rep Stage and through livestreaming. (bgindependentmedia.org)
    1. 29-year-old Damon Bates is dead after a shooting that occurred Sunday night in North Toledo at the 3500 block of N. Erie Street. 30-year-old Mychal Smith was charged with reckless homicide and it is reported that the two people were friends and the shooting may have been accidental. (13abc Action News)
  3. Toledo law firm Advocates for Basic Legal Equality (ABLE) is receiving a $1 million grant as part of a new Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) program. The funds will help ABLE partner with Legal Aid of Western Ohio (LAWO) to provide eviction prevention in 7 rural counties surrounding the Toledo area. (WTOL)
  4. Toledo Police are investigating a possible shooting incident after a woman found a bullet hole in her car at the Franklin Park Mall on Sunday afternoon. No injuries were reported and officers are reviewing security footage to discover what caused the damage. (13abc Action News)

  • ProMedica is holding a series called "Nights of Lights" in Downtown Toledo throughout December. The event will feature light displays, visits with Santa Claus and other characters, musical performances, and food trucks. (13abc Action News)
