Here are the top stories in Toledo today:
- The teachers at Whiteford Elementary School have received a $500 grant to craft fleece blankets, known as Eagle Comfort Blankets. The project is meant to provide for grieving students and families facing difficult times. (13abc Action News)
- A family escaped a fire Wednesday morning after their home in the 2500 block of Pershing Drive in West Toledo went up in flames. The family managed to get out safely before rescue crews arrived and the incident is under investigation. (WTOL)
- 16-year-old Jasmine Guinn has been found safe after she was missing since October 17. Guinn was last seen around the 1100 block of Indiana wearing a red shirt and grey leggings. (13abc Action News)
- Local group Susie's Coats for Kids is hosting a giveaway this Saturday, November 6 at Jones Leadership Academy on Nebraska Avenue at the corner of Collingwood Avenue. The organization has already distributed over 25,000 items to children in counties all over Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. (WTOL)
- Incumbent Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz was re-elected by the citizens of Toledo on election day, beating former Mayor Carty Finkbeiner by a wide margin. Mayor Kapszukiewicz announced his victory from Earnest Brew Works, touting his accomplishments with the Toledo Recovery Plan and this year's road repairs. (WNWO NBC 24)

- Toledo Public Schools are giving students and teachers an extra two days off during the Thanksgiving holiday this year. TPS Superintendent Romules Durant made the announcement describing the extended time off as a "wellness break." TPS will also keep its mask policy through the holidays. (13abc Action News)
