🌱 20 Year Sentence In Spotlight Club Shooting + Henry County Meth Lab

Hi all. It's me, Brad King, your host of the Toledo Daily — here to tell you everything you need to know about what's happening in town. Today's briefing includes:

  • Darryl Lathan was sentenced to 20.5 years in prison for killing Armonte Rodgers at the Spotlight Nightclub in 2021.
  • US Marshals recovered a missing 8-year-old child in Cleveland after discovering a meth lab at the parents' home in Henry County Friday afternoon.
  • The site of the Rosemary Apartments will become a green space after demolition started Friday thanks to a $350,000 grant received by the Lucas County Land Bank.

  1. Darryl Lathan was sentenced to 20.5 years in prison for killing Armonte Rodgers at the Spotlight Nightclub in 2021. Indicted in October 2021, Lathan was convicted on August 5, 2022. (WTOL)
  2. The site of the Rosemary Apartments will become a green space after demolition started Friday thanks to a $350,000 grant received by the Lucas County Land Bank. The family of 16-year-old Joshua Sorrell, who was killed while exploring the site in 2016, celebrated the move after years of advocacy. (WNWO)
  3. US Marshals recovered a missing 8-year-old child in Cleveland after a meth lab was discovered at the parents' home in Henry County Friday afternoon. Gregory Kalvitz and Jessica Downing are facing interference with custody charges thanks to efforts by the marshals, Henry County Sheriffs, Ohio BCI&I and the Ohio Attorney General's Office. (WTVG)
  4. Toledo Police were searching for 53-year-old Terry Place, last seen Thursday in South Toledo at Broadway and Western around 2:30 PM. (WTOL)
  5. The Toledo Dental Society's "Give Kids a Smile" program will offer free dental care for Northwest Ohio children on three dates in February. All children are welcome, with priority given to those without private insurance and not eligible for Medicaid. (WTVG)
