🌱 3 Arrested In Deadly I-75 Chase + Woman Shot In South Toledo Home

Here are the top five stories today in Toledo:

  1. Three men have been arrested for the car chase that resulted in Bluffton Police Officer Dominic Francis' death Thursday. Emin Johnson, Zachary Love, and Dante Tate all initially fled on foot after the crash before they were apprehended. (WTOL)
  2. A South Toledo woman was transported to the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm after an shooting at a home on Maumee Avenue late Thursday night. Toledo Police Detectives are investigating and no arrests have been made. (WTOL)
  3. A Lucas County Grand Jury has indicted 22-year-old Austin Sparks on charges of vehicular homicide following the March 10 death of 62-year-old Terrance Robb of Erie, Michigan. Robb was traveling east on Alexis Road, attempted to turn left onto Tetherwood, and was struck by Sparks. (WTVG)
  4. The University of Toledo is putting on the Broadway Musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee in April. The show's Broadway debut occurred in 2005 and the show examines a diverse group of students participating in the contest. (Toledo City Paper)
  5. ProMedica has launched a program in Toledo, Dayton, and Cincinnati to help address medical questions from anyone 55 and older. The program is called AAA HealthCONNECT and can be accessed via phone or webchat. (Mature Living)

  • March 31 was the Transgender Day of Visibility. WTOL celebrated the event at Grindhrs Coffee in Downtown Toledo with stories, drag shows, and music. (WTOL)

  • A new mural in East Toledo adorns the side of the Eastborn Carryout on E. Broadway Street. Local artists Chris "Chilly" Rodriguez and Connor "Con Tron" Degnan created the piece as a beacon of positivity. (Toledo City Paper)
  • The new Glass City Center (formerly the SeaGate Centre) will host several pieces of art with help from the Board of Lucas County Commissioners and The Arts Commission. The new space will feature a grand ballroom and an outdoor plaza. (WNWO NBC 24)
