🌱 3 Arrested At Ohio Skate + LaGrange Street Theatre Renovations

First, today's weather:

Here are the top five stories in Toledo today:

  1. Three people, including a juvenile, were arrested by Toledo Police after a huge fight broke out at Ohio Skate in West Toledo Friday night. 75 people were involved in the fight, both juveniles and adults, and a 15-year-old required stitches. (WTOL)
  2. Jamesiha Taylor, accused of stabbing her two children in Springfield Township in January, has been found incompetent to stand trial according to Lucas County Court officials. Taylor has been ordered to the Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital and it was reported she may become competent within the next year. (WTVG)
  3. David Kouba and his family have lived in Toledo for 14 years and are now hosting a Ukrainian couple who has fled their home country due to the Russian invasion. Yuriy and Tetiana lived and worked in capital city Kyiv but fled in February to escape the bombing. (WTVG)
  4. U.S. Rep Marcy Kaptur announced $2.5 million to benefit the historic Ohio Theatre on LaGrange Street in North Toledo. The funds will be used to update the building's façade and marquee and to renovate interior space for classrooms. (WTOL)
  5. Climbing gas prices may affect volunteers for the Mobile Meals of Toledo program. Mobile Meals is helping its volunteers by finding the most fuel-efficient routes for food delivery. (WNWO NBC 24)

  • Marcus Waugh works as a firefighter for TFD but moonlights as a powerlifter, having competed at the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus. Waugh has competed in the world's strongest firefighter category, placing third, and credits his wife and his fellow firefighters as inspiration for the accomplishment. (WTOL)
  • Local companies were already feeling the burden of supply chain issues affecting their production. Now, Russia's war in Ukraine is further straining the supply line as businesses such as the General Motors Powertrain plant continue to struggle. (WTOL)
