(Patch Media)

Hey, everybody. It's me, Brad King, your host of the Toledo Daily — here to explain all the most important things happening in the community. Today's briefing includes updates on...

  • 2 adults and a juvenile escaped a Central Toledo house fire.
  • Toledoan Adam Links has been indicted on 5 charges related to the September 10 murder of Eric Ham.
  • The Toledo Firefighters Union is bringing attention to cancer as being the number one killer of firefighters.

But first, today's weather:

Plenty of sunshine. High: 66 Low: 50.

📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Toledo who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Toledo Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.

Here are the top five stories in Toledo today:

  1. Two adults and a juvenile escaped a house fire in the 300 block of Kopernik Avenue in Central Toledo Wednesday night. Fire crews responded to the scene and found an SUV on the driveway and the front door on fire. (WTOL)
  2. Adam Links, 38, was indicted on five charges for the September 10 murder of 40-year-old Eric Ham. Toledo Police arrested Links after discovering the body of the victim in the suspect's home in the 4400 block of Grantley Road. (WTVG)
  3. The Toledo Firefighters Local 92 union is bringing attention to cancer as being the number one killer of firefighters. Lt. Jen Hill, who is in remission for triple-negative breast cancer, was affected when the city of Toledo did not cover 'injury pay' despite its inclusion in the collective bargaining agreement. (WTOL)
  4. Sarah Beacher was shot to death while on the front porch of a home in the East Side. Her murder remains unsolved. Beacher's children and family are hoping someone will be able to provide answers since she was killed in August 2015. (WTVG)
  5. This year's Perrysburg Sculpture Walk features 16 new pieces from a variety of local and out-of-state artists. In-person guided tours of the artwork are available at Woodland Park at East Boundary Street and East Indiana Avenue. (BG Independent News)
