The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Toledo.

(Patch Media)

Hey, everybody! It's me, Brad King, your host of the Toledo Daily. Keep reading for everything you need to know about what's happening in town these days, including updates on:

  • Declan Hill, 3, was pronounced dead at St. Vincent's Hospital from blunt force head and neck trauma while a suspect was reportedly arrested out of state.
  • Bryan Chambers, 46, was arrested for punching and choking his own son at the child's school and then at home.
  • Toledo Police report 13-year-old Kaliyah Johnson is missing from E. Hudson near Lagrange.

But first, today's weather:

Breezy in the afternoon. High: 73 Low: 55.

Here are the top five stories in Toledo today:

  1. Three-year-old homicide victim Declan Hill was killed by blunt force head and neck trauma and pronounced dead at St. Vincent's Hospital Friday afternoon. The Sylvania Township Police report a yet-unnamed suspect was arrested by police in another state. (WTVG)
  2. A 46-year-old West Toledo man, Bryan Chambers, was charged with domestic violence for punching his own son in the head and chest and choking him Friday afternoon. Chambers was arrested after the violence began at the child's school and continued at a home on Portsmouth near Douglas Road. (WTOL)
  3. The Toledo Police are searching for 13-year-old Kaliyah Johnson who was last seen on E. Hudson near Lagrange. The TPD first posted an alert to Facebook on Monday. (WTVG)
  4. The victims of the shooting at Whitmer High School on Friday have been identified as a 17-year-old student, a 21-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman. No suspects have been arrested but Toledo Police report the intended target may have been one of the victims. (WTVG)
  5. Toledo Public Schools voted unanimously to reject a proposal by the Ohio State Board of Education which would require schools to "out" students to their parents thus sending children to potentially unsafe homes. TPS voted Monday on their own resolution to address other issues such as gun violence and decreasing poverty. (WNWO)
