  1. Ken Leslie, founder of the groups 1Matters and Veterans Matter, has announced his resignation amid a sexual harassment scandal. Leslie issued a statement apologizing for his behavior and the board of 1Matters has accepted his resignation. (WTOL)
  2. Toledo Police responded to a shooting early Sunday morning in a home near E. Broadway and Starr Avenue in the 900 block of Mason. Antwuan Lawson was determined to be the victim and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. (13abc Action News)
  3. Toledo Police responded to two shooting victims on Saturday night in the 1000 block of Klondike Street around 9:30 PM. The victims were a man and a woman, who were sitting in a parked car when they were struck by gunfire and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. (13abc Action News)
  4. 18-year-old Toledo native Marquell Bradford was sentenced to a minimum of six years Friday for his involvement in an attempted robbery that occurred in August 2018. Bradford and accomplice Demonte Hartfield attempted to rob a home on Upton Avenue when both men were shot by a contractor renovating the home. Hartfield later died of his injuries. (WTOL)
  5. The Toledo Humane Society, through the BISSELL Pet Foundation's quarterly "Empty the Shelters' event, is reducing adoption fees to $25 through October 10. The Toledo Humane Society will be one of over 180 shelters in 35 states to offer the discount, which applies to dogs and cats over six months old. (WNWO NBC 24)

  • 20 North Gallery is opening a new exhibition showcasing the work of three regional artists. The exhibition is called "The Alchemist's Dream: Letts, Marino and Muir" and will run from October 8 through December 24 at 18 N. St. Clair Street in Downtown Toledo. (bgindependentmedia.org)
  • The Miracle League of Northwest Ohio has opened a 14,000 square foot building at the site of its baseball field in Northwood. The group provides individuals with disabilities a chance to play baseball, and the new building houses concessions, changing rooms, and scorekeeping. (WTOL)
  • Toledo Fire & Rescue is investigating a house fire that occurred Saturday night in the 900 block of Noble Street. The home was vacant and the fire was so severe that the intersection of Noble Street and Lagrange was blocked off to drivers. (13abc Action News)
