Personalized cancer vaccine shows promise against melanoma, local oncologist says (13abc.com) β A Toledo-based oncologist says a new personalized mRNA cancer vaccine is showing promising results in preventing melanoma from returning or spreading, offering fresh hope to local patients. Built from each person's own tumor, the shot trains the immune system to recognize that cancer's unique fingerprint and appears especially effective when paired with existing immunotherapy.
