  • The cause of the fatal BP Refinery fire on September 20 has been released.
  • A Monroe man has died after standing in the middle of northbound I-75 around 2:41 AM Sunday morning.
  • Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur will join local health care professionals and families to celebrate the Inflation Reduction Act on Tuesday, November 1.

  1. Federal investigators with the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board have released the cause of the BP Refinery Fire that killed Ben and Max Morrissey on September 20. The investigation is ongoing, but the cause was determined to be flammable chemicals that were accidentally released. (WTVG)
  2. Devontae Shackelford, 33, has died after standing in the center lane of northbound I-75 just over the Michigan border. Shackelford had left his vehicle around 2:41 AM Sunday before being struck by multiple vehicles and all but one fled the scene. (WTOL)
  3. Four people were shot in the 700 block of Junction Avenue just before midnight Friday. Gino Highsmith, 67, and 50-year-old Dennis Washington suffered fatal injuries while the identities of the other two adults have not been released by the Toledo Police. (WNWO)
  4. Toledo Police responded to St. Vincent Medical Center after an 18-year-old was admitted for non-life threatening gunshot wounds in North Toledo on Saturday. The victim stated they were shot by an unknown person near Tom's Market. (WTOL)
  5. Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur will join the Protect Our Care "Lower Costs, Better Care" national bus tour on November 1. Congresswoman Kaptur will join local Toledo residents and health care advocates to highlight the Inflation Reduction Act's efforts to lower health care costs for families and seniors. (WTVG)

  • The American Federation of Teachers stopped in Toledo Sunday for the "Get-Out-The-Vote" bus tour. (WTOL)
