🌱 Central Ave. Bank Robbery + Couple Arrested For Sex At Cedar Point

  • The FBI and Toledo Police are searching for suspects after the PNC Bank on Central Ave. was robbed.
  • Two juvenile rape suspects are permitted to return to Perrysburg Schools and participate in athletics.
  • Sandusky Police arrested a couple for having sex on the Cedar Point Ferris wheel.

Here are the top five stories today in Toledo:

  1. The Toledo Police and the FBI Violent Crime Task Force are asking for the public's help to identify a male suspect that robbed the PNC Bank on Central Ave. Tuesday morning. The suspect fled in a late-model SUV driven by an "older female" and photos from the crime are available online. (WTOL)
  2. With school beginning again, the Perrysburg Board of Education meeting on Monday was packed with parents asking how two rape suspects are allowed to return to school. The students are reportedly also allowed to compete in sports, and Perrysburg Superintendent Tom Hosler said the "district is 'limited' in what it can do." (WTOL)
  3. The Toledo City Council has postponed the vote on whether to adopt a new city flag designed by Jacob Parr. Originally scheduled for Tuesday, the council voted to consult with a community committee before ultimately approving the flag. (WNWO)
  4. Lourdes University is now home to a state-of-the-art simulation lab that will help students gain hands-on experience. The program will simulate birth, CPR, IVs, heart and lung functions, and more. (WTVG)
  5. David Davis and Heather Johnston, both 32, were arrested for allegedly having sex on the Ferris wheel at Cedar Point Sunday night, according to the Sandusky Police Dept. The crime was witnessed by several individuals, including juveniles, and the pair was booked into the Erie County Jail. (WTVG)

  • The Toledo Opera is accepting applications for its 2022-23 Advisory Committee now through September 2. (Toledo City Paper)
  • Toledo staple "Charlie's" is celebrating 50 years in business and has locations in Swanton, Maumee, and Toledo. Founded in 1972 by Greek immigrant Charlie Kryikou, the business is now owned by his son George and still serves the famous coney dogs and gyros that make it a local favorite. (Toledo City Paper)
  • This fall Owens Community College will offer a degree in animation as part of its technical arts program that will focus on illustration, graphic design, and 2D animation. (The Courier)
  • 1st Dibz Barber Shop on W. Sylvania Ave. gave out over 300 backpacks full of school supplies on Sunday. 1st Dibz will also feature "1st Fridays" where they will give out discounted haircuts and provide free food from 2-7 p.m. (WTOL)
