Happy Thursday, neighbors! Here's everything you need to know to start today off on an informed note, shall we? Here's what's going on today in Toledo.

Here are the top stories today in Toledo:

  1. Toledo Fire and Rescue crews responded to a car crash into a gas line near a home in South Toledo. The accident occurred on Western and Eldred and the driver fled the scene. Toledo Police are investigating. (WTOL)
  2. The Toledo City Council has approved $2.5 million to rejuvenate The Frederick Douglass Center in the Junction neighborhood. Executive Director Reggie Williams reflects on the 8 years spent working toward this goal. (WTOL)
  3. New details have emerged in the Toledo City Council bribery scandal and the involvement of the FBI. The claims include that the FBI was involved in obtaining a permit for an internet café and documentation of a conversation between the FBI and a Mercy Health employee. (13abc Action News)
  4. U.S. Together, a refugee settlement in Toledo, is preparing to host Afghans fleeing the country amid its political turmoil. The preliminary steps include collecting donations, finding volunteers, and working with local landlords. (WTOL)
  5. A Toledo man has been indicted on charges including attempted murder, felonious assault, and kidnapping stemming from an incident that occurred August 8 in the 1600 block of Norwood Avenue. The 35-year-old is accused of stabbing an unnamed victim several times in the chest with a large knife. (WTOL)
